A labret is a form of body piercing. Tak literally, it is any type of adornmt that is attached to the lip (labrum). However, the term usually refers to a piercing that is below the bottom lip, above the chin. It is sometimes referred to as a tongue pillar or a soul patch piercing.
The traditional pronunciation of labret in anthropology is /ˈ l eɪ b r ə t / LAY -brət. It derives from the Latin labrum lip and the diminutive suffix -et. However, many in the body-piercing industry give it the pseudo-Frch pronunciation /l ɒ ˈ b r eɪ / lo-BRAY , though the Frch word is in fact borrowed from the glish.

L'emplacement précis du piercing labret est également déterminé par le type de bijou porté. Si l'on veut porter un anneau, il est préférable de réaliser le piercing près de la lèvre de façon à placer un anneau de petit diamètre. Par contre, si l'on veut placer un bijou labret, il est recommandé d'éviter de percer trop près de la lèvre pour que la partie interne du bijou ne touche pas les dents.
Ces soins sont bien sûr à réaliser au dessus du lavabo fermé. N'utilisez pas de produits qui n'auraient pas la même composition que ceux recommandés. Ne faites ni plus, ni moins de nettoyages que préconisé, vous retarderiez la cicatrisation. En effet, trop de nettoyages empêchent une cicatrisation correcte.

Conseils Pour Porter Le Piercing Labret
Après cicatrisation, il est préférable de nettoyer son bijou au moins une fois par mois et de prendre une douche sans bijou en insistant à l'endroit du piercing (vous aurez remarqué qu'on ne frotte pas tant qu'on porte le bijou !).
Comme expliqué en préambule, on peut placer durant la cicatrisation, un anneau ou un labret. En cas de pose d'un anneau durant la cicatrisation, une période d'adaptation est nécessaire (on a tendance à baver un peu lorsqu'on boit). Pour les labrets, il est indispensable d'utiliser une assez grande taille car la lèvre gonfle fréquemment durant les premiers jours. Après cette période, le labret dépasse, ce qui est le processus normal.
