This option is quite harsh, and it may be dangerous for a sensitive skin. However, some people successfully made their piercing bubble drain using a tea tree oil, mostly due to its antibacterial effect.

Anyway, if you go for this solution, you should be very cautious, and put only a small drop of it on a bump itself, not inside the wound. A tea tree oil is going to soak the moisture out of this bump and dry your skin a little.

Use the solution twice a day: before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning, barely touching the bump with a small drop on your finger. Remember to have your hands always washed before the procedure. After applying it, in the morning you would notice a little dry skin, so you can peel that skin off and repeat the procedure.

During the initial piercing healing, a scab will appear inside of the wound. This is the way how your body treats the damaged tissue. If such scab or crust is constantly removed, your body simply stops producing it, causing scar tissue to appear. Even if you think that you didn’t pick up any scab, you have to keep in mind that rotating or moving your jewelry cause the same effect.

Next, your body makes a scar tissue instead of scab material, and that tissue starts bubbling out, and it has no way to go but on the top of a piercing hole.

Bump On Daith

Usually, it is caused by cartilage piercings, such as a helix, tragus, industrial, earlobe, rook and daith piercing. However, the bump can also be triggered by nose and belly piercings.

It depends on individual characteristics and on the chosen treatment. Generally, it takes from 3 days to 1 month to get rid of keloids on piercing. So it’s true… I formed bumps during week 4! I’m unsure if stuff got into it from not completely drying my ears or from sweat, or if I just super irritated it by sleeping on that side for a bit. Luckily I have my 4 week follow-up appointment for the piercer to check the 2 piercings – the faux rook (just confirmed that’s what my top piercing is called) and the daith. To save you the trouble of looking at 6 separate photos, below is one that combines the photos of my week 4.

The photos above are actually from one night. Angles are really important in photos as the bumps are bigger some and not as prominent in others.

Piercing Bump: 6 Ways To Get Rid Of Cartilage Or Nose Keloid, Blister

My faux rook piercing has been pretty great during week 4. The piercing has been spinning around a lot more often, but it wasn’t a bother. The bumps on my daith didn’t hurt, but I definitely did something since there was then some blood. I kept with the hair drying / drying my ears with the blow dryer after showers and doing the saline mist spray 2x a day.

My 4 week piercing follow-up appointment on Friday, June 10 was probably the most exciting 15 minutes I had that day. The piercer said that everything looked normal and that my faux rook piercing was ready to be downsized. Downsizing a piercing is putting in a shorter bar so that it won’t move/spin around as much anymore. The part gets pierced with a longer bar to allow room for swelling. The downsizing process felt a bit interesting. The piercing area got cleaned first and then I felt some pressure as the piercer was working on removing the existing bar to put in a shorter bar. The BVLA jewelry on my faux rook is called an end, so if I wanted to switch that jewelry, I can at any time because it’s the bar that is in the hole and the gem/end is to be screwed into the bar. Pretty cool, right?

Perfectly normal. I was told they are not swelling bumps and that they should dry out and fall off eventually. That’s pretty cool! I just got to continue to LITHA – leave it the hell alone, and to dry them after each shower. The piercer told me to continue to do what I’ve been doing since everything looks normal.

Daith Irritation Bump Healed!

I asked when I can get more piercings on the same ear and I was told any time! The faux rook has been healing wonderfully and the daith looks normal, and my ear can take on some more piercings. I scheduled an ear curation appointment for a couple weeks after to look at more jewelry and what can work. My thoughts are
