11 years ago, on June 5, 2018, Paul Pierce landed awkwardly during Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He crumpled to the ground, holding his right knee, and was carried off the floor. He was put into a wheelchair and rolled into the back.
He has, in the past, said the team doctor asked for the wheelchair to get him back into the locker room without putting weight on the leg.

Tonight, though, before Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors, Pierce said he had an admission to make. All he needed was a bathroom break.

I don’t believe him. Pierce has become a notorious prankster, some would say a troll, over the course of this season. I think he’s just joking. Look at the play.
Knee Injury Couldn't Keep Paul Pierce Off Floor
If he really just needed to go to the bathroom, then he kept up the ruse of a knee issue for days, keeping it wrapped all series long.

There is zero doubt in my mind Pierce is joking around, but this joke is going to take a life of its own. Once something like this gets onto the internet, it belongs to the masses.
