So it’s a week late and I’ve had a hectic one of that but I promised these guys a shout out – and to be honest they deserve it!
Sooooo I’m going to go for a walk down memory lane for a moment (don’t worry I won’t lose it honest!) to when I was around 17 years old and began my venture into the body modification scene. It all began with a simple Labret I had when I was 16 after my mom witnessed me admiring them over the Internet and called me ‘chicken s***’ and ‘way too afraid to get one’. Needless to say I typically rebeled and went behind her back to get pierced up and that began some sort of addiction…
Yep…that’s my hair after cutting ALL my dreadlocks off. But anyway back to it – I had piercings, also adding a nipple and tongue piercing to the tally too. They were fun and I enjoyed them! Until my eyebrow eventually fell out and my labret shredded my lower gum line.

Motherhood soon beckoned then and next the nipple had to leave (it never fully healed itself) as I was to breastfeed exclusively, followed by my tongue as all I would ever do was gag and heave with it in. So now I’m left with my nose and my beloved medusa (philtrum) and I’m happy. Would I like more? Maybebut I’m never certain anymore I’m the evermore indecisive mother. Any who’s 🙊.
My best friend however, wasn’t! ‘K’ wanted neededher nose pierced and it was to DOLLY ROCKERSIn the Birmingham oasis markets that we headed.
The studio is split into two parts (for those going back a few years they used to be two separately owned studios for piercings etc etc) now consisting of dolly rockers tattooson the upper deck and dolly rockers piercing studio on the lower level (forgive me as I forget the level numbers but I think this was level 5)

My friend K began to browse the book of piercing examples (compiled by the company themselves which I’ve never seen of a studio in oasis it was a nice touch) ‘umming’ and ‘arring’ as she had been undecided all day at this point. Then we were greeted by ‘George’ (I am so sorry if I spelt your name wrong missus!) a wonderful young gal who was very accessible and chatty, and you could see she enjoyed her job which is always good to know. I don’t think I’d want to be pierced by someone who looked like they had chewed on a bees nest…unless they had just been pierced themselves of course!
She showed K examples of what can be used to pierce the nose with jewellery wise, and bam! K was going for it picking a labret stud for her nose and upgrading it with a sparkly ball for added prettys all around.
Prices here are good, I can actually say they haven’t changed much since I had all mine done circa 2002-2004which really shocked me, especially as body modification has really become accessible and at the forefront for the looks of today.

Apologies if the picture isn’t too great eek! – K paid a total of £18.50 (price correct as of 12/03/2016) for a nose piercing, pierced with needle – I can’t stress how DAMAGINGPiercing guns are to tissues! It is down to your own preference but my personal view is DONT get your nose pierced with one! –labret stud with upgrade to sparkle ball (£3) and a 50p card charge 🙂
Another good thing is YOU MUST READ AND SIGN A WAIVER before taking out your piercing with dolly rockers, K was very good in making sure she read every point, and make sure you do it has all the info needed for cleaning and maintaining your piercing to prevent it from going bad!
And with that, we were led into the room. Boy did it take me back! It smelt beautiful (yes I am one of those people who loves the smell of clean.) everything was indeed cleanit looked well maintained and everything had a place.

And I even had my medusa looked at to see what jewellery I could get in there to make it look petite and dainty 👍🏻 free of charge.
