Ein transrmales Implantat, auch Transrmal genannt, ist ein unter r Hautoberfläche liegens Implantat. Im Implantat wird mittels eines kleinen Gewinstabes, r durch die Haut an die Oberfläche ragt, Schmuck angebracht. Kleine Varianten s Transrmals wern als Micrormal bezeichnet. Auch sie stellen eine Form r Body-Modification dar.
Transrmals bestehen aus einem Stab mit Innengewin, r fest mit einer unter r Haut liegenn kleinen Platte verbunn ist. Das Gewin ragt dabei durch die Haut, so dass man darauf verschiene Aufsätze schrauben kann. r Stab hat normalerweise einen Durchmesser von drei bis sechs Millimeter. Unter r Haut befint sich die Platte aus Titan or Stahl, welche für Halt sorgt. Eine Spezialform biln die Micrormal, welche wegen ihrer geringen Größe und r meist einfachen Verheilung sehr beliebt sind.

Als Erstes wird meist die Stelle lokal betäubt. Die Inzision kann mit einer Nal, einem Skalpell or einem Biopsie-Punch gemacht wern. Mit einem stumpfen Werkzeug trennt r Modifier die Hautschichten und formt so eine Gewebetasche. Mit einem rmal Punch wird das Loch für n Stab gestanzt und das Implantat eingesetzt. Für die Dauer r Heilung wird ein kurzer, flacher Aufsatz aufgeschraubt. Diese Heilungsphase wird begleitet von Schwellungen, Verfärbungen r Haut und auch leichten Schmerzen.
Anrs als Piercings können Micrormals nicht durch einfaches Herausschrauben vom Träger selbst entfernt wern. Micrormals lassen sich in r Regel ohne erneute Öffnung r Haut entfernen, dazu wird das Implantat mit einem speziellen Entfernungswerkzeug or einem eingeschraubten Barbell-Piercing aus r Haut „gehebelt“. In schwierigen Fällen kann ein 1–2 mm langer Schnitt mittels Skalpell erfolgen.
Micrormals (or auch „rmal Anchors“, „Hautanker“, „Skinplates“ genannt) sind spezielle Transrmals. Micrormals zeichnen sich durch ihre Größe und das einfachere Einsetzen aus. r Fuß eines Micrormals ist etwa 2, 5 × 7 Millimeter groß. Auch haben Micrormals in r Regel nur einen Stift zum Befestigen s Schmucks.

Die Risiken sind dieselben wie bei Piercings. Allerdings könnte eine Infektion größere Folgen haben, es muss daher sehr sauber gearbeitet wern. Es sind außerm Fälle bekannt, bei nen sich transrmale Implantate wegen Gewebe-Erosionen durch die Schälcke gearbeitet haben. Die Platzierung spielt dabei offenbar eine große Rolle. Es kann sich empfehlen, n Schmuck beim Sport je nach Sportart zu entfernen or abzukleben.
In r Anfangszeit wur Nasenstecker-ähnlicher Schmuck verwent. Eine Schlaufe unter r Haut sollte durch Einwachsen n Halt sicherstellen. Nach ersten Erfahrungen mit speziell für Transrmals hergestellten Implantaten wur aber klar, dass damit die besseren Resultate erzielt wern. Heute gibt es mehrere Hersteller von Micrormals.
Einige Frauen tragen Mikrormalimplantate im kolletee als Ersatz or Ergänzung von Halsketten. Auch im Gesicht, z. B. als optische Verlängerung r Augen, und an n Hänn or Fingern kommen sie regelmäßig zum Einsatz. Manche ergänzen bestehen Piercings, z. B. im Nabel- und Intimbereich, or wern in Gruppen gestochen. Ein beliebter Einsatzzweck ist die Kombination mit (bestehenn) Tätowierungen, z. B. um Augen menschlicher or tierischer Motive darzustellen or zentrale Punkte geometrischer Figuren hervorzuheben.

) is a facial body piercing through the cheek. The most common variation of the cheek piercing petrates the facial tissue into the oral cavity. The usual placemt is symmetrical on either side of the face, either petrating or imitating dimples.

An alternative is microdermal implants, placed in the intded dimple location. This method avoids drawbacks of full cheek piercings. Though microdermals do have a slightly larger chance to leave a scar than a piercing, they will heal evtually and be almost unnoticeable. The rate of infection is also lower in the long run. Because the piercing does not petrate the cheek completely, there is little to no chance of tooth or gum damage. Microdermals are like a 'one hole' piercing, where the 'foot' of the jewelry sits below the skin and the decorative jewel or flat disc is above the skin.

This will accommodate for swelling. After the piercing is healed, shorted jewelry further reduces the chance of damage to the teeth from uninttional biting.

Wh the procedure is done using a post-like implant, an incision is made a small distance from the site. The skin is th lifted and the implant is passed through. Th, a hole is oped at the site for it to pass through, and it is moved so that the top part fills the hole. The implants used for this are gerally small and not textured in any way except rounding.
If a more graphic implant is desired, it is gerally done in two parts. First, the base is inserted the same way a single-part would be, except that the base implant is threaded. It may either stick out like a bolt, or be inward like a nut. Wh this is done, the top half is screwed on. This type is usually done for spikes and/or horns.

Microdermal implants are a form of body modification which gives the aesthetic appearance of a transdermal implant, without the complications of the much more complicated surgery associated with transdermal implants.
